Our bridges are die cast for old school reproduction. "Stored Energy" is what results from the die cast process. When the mold cavity is filled, the outside wall takes shape first.
When the mold-cavity is filled, the outside wall takes a set to shape first, because the mold is quite a bit cooler than the molten metal flowing into the mold. This means the material in the center of the part is still in motion, and in an expanded state, since heat causes things to expand (where-as the outside wall has already begun to contract). The end result is when the inside solidifies, it's stuck inside this pre-formed shape, and wants to get even smaller, but it's difficult due to the fact that the lattices* want to pull together with a strong magnetic-type attraction — that's why atomic weapons are so powerful, as they release that type of bond, although it's not exactly the same thing, but you get the idea. In the most simple terms, the inside of the walls of the part want to be smaller than the outside of the part, creating a metallurgical tug-of-war. That tug-of-war is responsible for the stress and stored-energy that makes the part kind of like a spring, or like tight guitar or piano strings. The results are a bridge that allows a maximum of string energy to pass through to the guitar body, with excellent harmonics and a great woody tone.
